For clinics, legal aid and community agencies
What your organization pays.
One price a year, published, the same for every organization of the same size. Never per application, never a share of what your clients receive, and never anything billed to them. You can read the whole table before you talk to anybody.
Founding organizations: The first 20 organizations to create an account before December 31, 2026 pay nothing until March 31, 2027, then 50% of the published price for the year after that.
Individuals never pay. Not here, not ever.
If you are applying for the Disability Tax Credit — for yourself or for a family member — everything on this site is free for you.
No account, no fee, and never a percentage of what you get back.
The prices below are what a clinic or a community agency pays to run getowed for its own staff. A person being helped by one of them pays nothing either.
The plans
Every price here is paid by an organization. Never by the person applying.
A person is somebody at your organization with their own sign-in. Not a client, and not a case — you can open as many cases as you need. When somebody leaves, remove them and their place is free the same minute.

Which “free” applies to you
- Free because of your size
- Commons is free permanently, for any organization of five people or fewer. Nothing to start, no card, and no end date.
- Free because of the date
- Every plan on this page, including the paid ones, costs nothing until March 31, 2027 for the first 20 organizations that create an account before December 31, 2026. After that, 50% of the published price for a year.
How paying works
If you are one of the first 20 organizations
- Today
- Your card goes on file. Nothing is charged.
- March 31, 2027
- Your first charge: 50% of the published price for your plan.
- March 31, 2028
- It renews, at the published price.
The 30 free days below are not added to this — your founding period replaces them.
For every organization after those
- The first 30 days are free
- You enter a card to start, and nothing is charged for 30 days. We email you seven days before the first charge, so nothing lands as a surprise. Cancel before the 30 days end and you pay nothing at all — and if a board cycle needs longer, write to hello@getowed.ca and we will extend the trial.
- Then one payment a year
- Your card is charged once a year: the price above plus GST or HST at your province’s rate. Every invoice is readable from your console, and you can change the card there any time.
- Cancelling is one button
- Cancel during the trial and it ends right away, free. Cancel after paying and you keep everything until the year you paid for ends — it simply does not renew. Your casework is never deleted either way.
- Changing plans is one button
- Choose “Switch to” on the plan you want in your console. A page shows the price and the date before anything changes. A bigger plan starts right away, and only the difference for the rest of your year is charged. A smaller plan starts when your paid year ends, so nothing you paid for is cut short.
- No card? That is normal
- Many organizations pay by invoice or purchase order. Write to hello@getowed.ca and we arrange it with your finance office.
How subscribing works, step by step
Plans are open.
An administrator chooses one in the console, under Billing. Nothing is charged on the day you start: the founding terms or the free first days above come first.
Why each person needs their own sign-in
getowed records every change to a case: which field, what it was, what it became, the date and time, and the name and professional title of whoever made it. A case history cannot be edited or deleted, entry by entry, by anybody — not by your caseworker, not by your executive director, and not by us. A correction is a later entry that says what it corrects.
A shared login destroys all of that, and it is your own staff’s colleges that ask for it, not us and not your funder. The Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers requires a record to identify who made each entry and under what designation, and to preserve the original content when something changes. The College of Nurses requires every entry signed with a unique identifier and a designated title. A spreadsheet passed around an office satisfies neither.
Funders read totals, and none of them asks for a named worker. Regulators read records. This is for the second reader — and if your organization is ever asked how it controls access to a client system, named accounts with an unalterable history are the answer, already written down.
Commons is free, and it stays free
Not a trial, not a countdown, not a smaller version of something you are meant to buy later.
It exists because the organizations doing the most of this work often have the least money to do it with. A volunteer tax clinic. A drop-in. One navigator in a town of four thousand.
If Commons is the right size for you, it is the right plan. There is no countdown anywhere in the product, and no reminder that a bigger plan exists.
Provincial is agreed in a conversation
A provincial program, a health authority or a First Nations health authority is not buying a bigger plan. It is agreeing a deployment, a data-sharing agreement and a service level — and those are what set the price.
Write to hello@getowed.ca. We start with what you need, not with a number.
What happens to your cases if you stop paying
Nothing is deleted. Not when a payment fails, and not when you decide to leave.
Everyone on your team keeps their sign-in. Every case stays where it is. You can open, print and export all of it, for as long as the account exists.
A caseworker in the middle of an objection is not the person who forgot to renew a card, and a statutory deadline does not wait for a finance office.
If you want your organization’s records removed entirely, write to hello@getowed.ca and we will delete them. No notice period, nothing to argue about.
Remember what there is to delete: file references, client numbers, stages and dates. Never a client’s name, a diagnosis or a contact detail — there are no fields for them.
