For clinics, legal aid and community agencies

Know what every case is waiting on.

getowed keeps your team’s disability benefit cases in one place: who each case is waiting on, which deadlines are coming, what the practitioner needs and what your funder will ask for. It does this without holding your clients’ names. Free for teams of five or fewer.

Sample data. The Today screen: how many files are yours to move, a timeline of objection deadlines over the next 90 days, and counts of whose move each case is.

For your caseworkers

Monday morning

The first screen is your morning list: the files that are yours to move, and the ones waiting on a practitioner, the Canada Revenue Agency or the person you help. The next 90 days of objection deadlines sit on one line, and getowed emails the caseworker 14 days and 3 days before each one — without naming the file.

Sample data. The Horizon screen: every objection deadline the team is carrying, this month and later, each with its date and the days left.

Every case on one line

Each case is your file reference, the benefit it is about, its stage, whose move it is, its dates and its outcome. Every change is kept in a history you can export.

Already in a spreadsheet? Paste it or open the CSV — English or French headings — check the preview, and undo the import if it was wrong, until any of its cases has been changed.

Your own spreadsheet, beside the case

Open your team’s own spreadsheet, saved as CSV, in getowed — names, notes, whatever it holds — and find a client by name: their row appears beside their case. The sheet is read on your computer. It is never sent to us and never kept: close the tab and it is gone.

Your sheet stays on this computer. getowed never receives it.

The practitioner’s appointment

The Practitioner Brief puts together what the practitioner needs from the caseworker’s answers, as one sheet to print and bring to the appointment. It is not saved.

For your funder

What your funder asks for

The report counts cases opened, submitted, approved, refused and withdrawn, and the amounts found owed — for any dates, a quarter or a fiscal year, split by province and by benefit. Groups too small to share are withheld. Download it as CSV.

For your director and board

getowed has no field for your clients’ names.

  • Your client records stay in your own system. Your spreadsheet can be opened beside a case, on your own computer, and is never sent to us.
  • If a file reference or client number looks like a person’s name, getowed warns before it is saved.
  • Every download of your cases or their history, every undone import and every deleted case is recorded for your administrator, and every case keeps its history.

Your team, and a person when you need one

Invite your colleagues, each with their own sign-in — by an emailed link, which works for 30 minutes, or a password. When something is unclear, ask from the Help page inside getowed: a person answers, on that page. A step-by-step guide covers every screen.

What getowed does not do

  • It holds no client names, dates of birth, diagnoses or documents. Your client records stay in your own system; getowed tracks the case beside them.
  • It has no free-text notes. Stages, dates and whose move it is cover the tracking; your notes stay where your records are.
  • It does not file anything with the Canada Revenue Agency for you.
  • It is not a full case-management system. It sits beside yours, or beside your spreadsheet, and does not replace it.
  • It works out the objection deadline only for the federal Disability Tax Credit — not for Revenu Québec’s equivalent, and not for other benefits.

Questions organizations ask

How do colleagues get in?

You invite them from the Team page. They get an email naming you and their role, with a link that works once and lasts 7 days — if it expires, you send a new one. After that, they sign in with an emailed link, which works for 30 minutes, or with a password if they set one.

Can one client have several processes?

Yes, as separate cases — one for each benefit, each with its own file reference. Give them the same client number and getowed shows them together. That number is your own, never a name.

How do we start with what we already have?

Bring in your spreadsheet: paste it or open the CSV, check the preview, and undo it if it is wrong — until any of its cases has been changed.

Can we use our own file numbers?

Yes. Every case is under your own reference, and you can set your format so the team is reminded of it when they add a case.

Who do we ask for help?

A person, from the Help page inside getowed. The answer comes back on that page.

What does it cost after the founding period?

Teams of five or fewer stay free, permanently. The first 20 organizations to join before December 31, 2026 hold a founding place: a larger plan, once plans open, costs nothing until March 31, 2027, then half the published price for a year.

What it costs

Free for teams of five or fewer, permanently — no card, no trial. Larger teams choose a plan in their console, and nothing is charged for at least the first 30 days. What organizations pay
